Despite being nine months since we first heard about the practices going in Anglo Irish Bank where directors paid themselves huge bonuses, organised back to back loans shifting money from one institution to another, we have heard little about anyone being called to book regarding what was happening, the Labour Leader Eamon Gilmore TD said during Leaders' Questions in the Dáil when he quizzed the Tanaiste about delays into investigations into the bank.
"Around the same time Bernie Madoff was arrested in New York. Since then he has been tried, convicted and jailed for 150 years. Unfortunately, in the same time we have heard very little about anybody being called to book regarding what happened in Anglo Irish Bank."
Eamon went on to demand that the Tanaiste explain what is happening to the investigation and how much additional monies will the Government put into Anglo Irish Bank.
Eamon's contribution can be viewed in the accompanying video while you can read the full exchange on the Oireachtas website.
