Labour Led Council Good For Business

Issued : Monday 22 November, 2004

Fianna Fail have claimed that the group leading Kells Town Council would destroy business and jobs in Kells. let the facts speak for themselves.

Since myself and my Party Colleague Tommy Grimes formed a group with three other Councillors to gain control of Kells Town Council we have faced claims that this left wing grouping would be bad for business. Let the facts speak for themselves.

Since June we have seen new developments at Lloyd Business Park such as Royal Drives acquisition of additional space and Smurfitts proposed expansion, a proposed new Hotel & Leisure complex announced for Balrath, a proposal for a Retail Park on the Cavan Road, an announcement on funding for the Public Amenity Centre at the back of the Lloyd Business Park and a significant moving forward of the proposal for the new Town Centre in the backlands.

Labour will continue to fight on Kells Town Council for more jobs, more investment and more business for Kells.
