While speaking at the Tom Johnson school during the annual Jim Kemmy banquet, Brian Collins announced his intention to seek the nomination of the Labour Party in Meath West to contest the next General Election.
Brian Collins has announced his decision to seek the nomination of the Labour Party to contest the next General Election in Meath West.
There are simply too many issues going unaddressed in Meath West. Transport, health, unfinished housing estates as well as the wider issue of planning all need to be raised. Meath is awash with new developments but the infrastructure is simply not coming in to cater for the growing population.
"As a possible nominee of the Labour Party I hope to fire up the local organisation and fight to ensure that Labour makes a major breakthrough in the coming election," said Brian Collins.
"Should I be fortunate to be selected then I will make every effort to ensure that the Government are held to account for their failure to provide adequate infrastructure in Meath West. I will also make a bond with the members in Meath that we will run a serious and professional campaign so that nobody will have any doubt that we intend winning a seat in this Constituency," he concluded.
