Council Fails to Decide On Bus Stop

Issued : Monday 26 September, 2005
Areas : Kells

Brian Collins has expressed his dismay at the failure of the Town Council to decide the location of the Bus Stop for the Town.
According to Cllr. Collins the Council had a simple choice between having a bus stop or not having a bus stop. It presently appears the Council has chosen the latter.

At the monthly meeting of Kells Town Council on Monday 19th of September Kells Town Council refused to make a decision about the location of the Bus Stop and Bus Shelter. After extensive discussions with the Gardai, Bus Eireann, the NRA and the design section of Meath County Council the Town Engineer, Tom Traynor, recommended a site adjacent to Johns Cemetary. Unfortunetly ignoring issues of Public Safety and Traffic Management the Council refused to reach a decision.
Cllr Collins believes that this is an unfortunate turn of events which only hurts the commutters of the town.
The people of Kells must continue to wait for their representaives to make a decision that should have been made years ago.
