Brian Collins has welcomed the decision of Kells Town Council to locate the Dublin bound Bus Stop and Bus Shelter at the Southern end of Headfort place.
Cllr. Collins who has campaingned tirelessly for the Council to reach agreement on the provision of a Bus Shelter in the Town has said that the decision is long overdue but at last it has come.
"Funding was provided for the Bus Shelter in the Budget last December and we have debated the by-laws relating to the provision of the Bus Stop since May 2005. At last we now have agreement and the long suffering commutters of the town will now have some shelter against the elements as they set out in the morning," said Cllr Collins.
"I would like to thank my Council colleagues for accepting the importance of this issue for so many of the towns commutters, myself included. I would also like to express my regret that as this was a promise I made in the Local Elections it has taken me so long to achieve my committment. However I suppose it is a case of better late than never," concluded Cllr. Collins.
