Political Career:
- Elected as a Councillor for the Meath in the Local Elections of 2004.
- Elected Senator in 2007.
- Elected to the 31st Dáil, having topped the poll with 21% of the 1st preference vote,
- Chairperson of the Committee for the Implementation of the Good Friday Agreement, June 2011
- Elected Chairperson of European Union Affairs Committee, Jan.2012
Occupation:
- In 1995 set up a business consultancy which provides advice to the health, transport, communications and entertainment sectors at home and abroad.
Education:
- Graduated from UCD with a degree in Engineering, from City University (London);
- Masters in Transport and from the University of London with a Masters in Finance.
