Public Notice of Proposed Salt Barn Facility at Old Lucan Road

In the light of the Council's experience in gritting/icing roads during the very cold weather after in January 2010, the Council proposes to build a Salt Barn and storage for machinery , on a small piece of land off the N4, near the Fonthill junction and the Deadman's Inn. Below is a copy of a newspaper notice, announcing what is called a Part 8 process, which is effectively a mechanism involving public consultation, through which the Council seeks "planning permission" for projects such as minor road construction, infill council housing, etc..
PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT ACT 2000 Part 8 Planning and Development Regulations 2001 -2009 Public Notice of Proposed Salt Barn facility at the old Lucan Road, Fonthill Pursuant to the requirements of the above, notice is hereby given of the proposed provision by South Dublin County Council of the above scheme and a description of the proposed works follows: The proposed works consist of the following: 1. The development of the site approx 0.74 Hectares to include a Salt Barn, Machinery Building and associated facilities. It also includes facilities for storage, parking and re-fueling of plant and machinery, necessary utilities and services. 2. Associated access and egress points to the site. 3. Associated road signage and road markings.
