  • I worked in the family business until I left school in 1985. I emigrated to Scotland, where I worked for 1 year in construction. I then returned to Ireland and successfully completed a Anco/Fas City & Guilds course in plastering. Due to the work situation in Ireland, I returned to London, England where I worked from the late 80s to the middle 90s. During this period I worked with a lot of fellow Irish workers and got to know a lot of people. In 1988 I got a job from a friend from home as a steel fixer and I worked in this profession until I returned home in the 90s. When I came home, I went back to work in the family business

Memberships:

  • I co-managed U14 & U16 s Raphoe Town soccer club for a number of years and successfully won U14s Lifford & District league and cup. During this period I was asked to manage U14s Lifford & District league team, and we won the Inter County Cup competition for the first time ever.
  • I am a former member of Twin Towns boxing club and Raphoe Boxing club. I played soccer for Raphoe underage , Raphoe Town mens, Lagan Harps, Kildrum Tigers, Finn Harps reserves and I played amateur soccer in London with an Irish team called Derry Utd for 5 years. I was a member of Raphoe Scouts when I was a teenager and I was a member of the Convoy underage GAA team managed by Father Crossan that won the community Games.

Other Interests:

  • Keen interest in all sports, golf, jet skiing, scuba diving, Boxing, Soccer, Swimming and Gaelic football.
  • I competed at the All Irelands in Athletics and Boxing as a teenager. I also have a Bronze medal for lifesaving and a padi scuba diving badge. I have dived with sharks, turtles, barracudas and other exotic fish in the Caribbean Island of Turks & Cacio.
  • Taking my family to the movies and travelling.
