Grainne KilmurryCllr Grainne Kilmurry

My name is Gráinne Kilmurry and I successfully contested the town council elections.

I am delighted to have been elected to represent the people of Balbriggan on our town council.

I have been a resident of Balbriggan all my life, originally growing up in Fancourt Heights and now living in Barons Hall since 2005.

I have worked in healthcare for 17 years, while also completing a BSc in Healthcare Management and a BA in Law. I have worked in both public and private sectors of healthcare and currently run a homecare business which looks after elderly and disabled in the community.

As we are now facing into difficult economic times, I feel very strongly that we must ensure that community services for the elderly and disabled are not put under strain. I am committed to ensuring that services for the vulnerable are improved and maintained during these difficult times.

I am a member of the Balbriggan Parish Pastoral Council and the People with Disability Ireland Fingal Network Group.

There have been many benefits to the development boom in Balbriggan, but we also need to manage the new problems that rapid development has brought. Issues such as traffic congestion, planning, anti-social behaviour and lack of community facilities need to be tackled.

I look forward to meeting people during my term of office and listening to the needs of our community.
