My Priorities
Housing - One of my chief priorities is addressing the needs of the over 480 people on the housing list in Shannon.
Planning - I believe that the inadequate planning of Shannon in the past, where the opportunity to build a viable traditional town centre was lost to a shopping mall. I will work to fight against other poor planning decisions.
Shannon - Shannon Airport has always been a priority for the Labour Party and the Trade Union Movement & as a long time Trade Unionist I will ensure this fight will continue.
Children - The families of Shannon need affordable childcare and crèche facilities in the Town.
Anti-Social Behaviour - In order to address the rising number of anti-social behaviour incidents in the Town I will advocate for an increase in the number of Gardai involved in Community Policing.
Economy - In these harsh economic times when the weakness of the Irish economy is affecting marginalised groups in society while Government and right-wing groups pursue cuts as the only way to correct the public finances I believe that a strong left-wing voice is necessary.
