Party Conference This Weekend In Galway

Posted on April 16, 2010 at 10:14 AM

I am heading off to galway this afternoon on the recently launched train service to attend the party's annual conference. With over 150 motions submitted covering various topics and policies it promises to be lively and passionate.

The conference offers us an opportunity to outline to the wider public how the Labour Party will address the serious challenges facing us as a society. As party spokesperson on health i will be replying to the motions submitted on health and putting forward the labour parties view that it is only through the phased introduction of universal health care that we will seriously reform our health system by treating patients on the basis of their medical need rather than their ability to pay.

Our party leader Eamon will state clearly how the labour party are best placed to address our countries economic difficulties and people will know what labour will do if and when returned to government.

i will update you next week on the outcome of the conference, have to go train to catch
