Job creation remains a priority- Harte
Issued : Friday 27 January, 2012
Senator Jimmy Harte has said that the latest figures from the CSO illustrating the decline in people's disposable income highlights how job creation in Donegal must remain a priority.
"The figures released from the CSO this week have shown that since the recession began, disposable income in Donegal has fallen and is now at the lowest levels in the country.
"These figures stress the importance of the Government's JobBridge initiative which not only provides training and upskilling, but also the prospect of creating jobs locally.
"I have made representations to the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton highlighting the need for continual investment in job creation projects in Donegal and I will continue to do so at a local and national level and through my work in the Seanad.
"The work of this government is only starting and I will be expecting that Donegal will get the special treatment that it deserves."
