Hi and thanks for taking the time to visit my webpage. As a father and a carpenter having lost my job due to the economic downturn I know only too well the difficulties families throughout our communities now face. As a public representative I am fully committed to improving our communities ensuring that they are better places for people to live and work.

Since the local elections in June 2009, I now serve as Chairman for the Newport electoral area committee and also Chairman of the Transportation: Roads and Water Services SPC. Other Committees and organizations that I am involved with include the Planning & Development Community and Enterprise SPC, North Tipperary County Development Board, Nenagh Community Arts Centre,Tipperary Joint Libraries committee, North Tipperary VEC, North Tipperary Leader Partnership

Jonathan’s Priorities include:

  • Creating and maintaining employment in North Tipperary and encouraging new Businesses to the area along with encouraging the expansion of existing businesses, to include those in rural areas.
  • Upgrading of our Roads, Public Lighting, Footpaths, along with our water and sewage services.
  • To maintain and improve Education and Health services Throughout North Tipperary. To ensure that every member of our communities has access to adequate Education and Health services.
  • Improved traffic calming for our towns and villages especially at our schools.
  • The Promotion of Tourism in North Tipperary and to use our lakes and there amenity areas, mountains and our History and Heritage sites.
  • To promote renewable energy sources and the conservation of our energy in new and existing buildings.
  • To protect the most vulnerable within in our society especially the elderly, children and those who have lost their jobs and now depend on social welfare and child benefit payments due to the current Economic climate.
