Josette Farrell
Josette has been living in Claregalway for over 22 years. She originally hails from Strokestown, Co. Roscommon and comes from a business back-ground where her parents Jack and Bridie McHugh ran a grocery/bar/giftware and undertaking business. During her time in Claregalway, Josette has been actively involved in community affairs.
She has been involved in campaigns
· A much needed bypass for Claregalway
· For primary and second level schools
· For better bus service
· For better infrastructure
Chairperson and founder member of Claregalway Amenity group. With which she achieved the restoration of the Nine Arches Bridge and the local water pumps as well as the erection of a memorial stone and the 3 “Welcome to Claregalway” signs. Editor of the local newsletter Nuacht Chlair. She has put herself out so much for Claregalway fighting for the bypass, and highlighting the lack of facilities in Claregalway.
She wants imaginative solutions to provide youth facilities where young people congregate, e.g. youth cafes.
