Areas : Kinsale, Co. Cork

Labour Party Senator for Cork South-West, Senator Michael McCarthy, has called on the HSE to resolve the ongoing work to rule dispute that has closed the Community Welfare Office in Kinsale.

Senator McCarthy said, “The current situation, where people suffering financial hardship due to the economic crisis are now being subjected to further distress because of the Government and the HSE’s failure to resolve this dispute, cannot be allowed to continue.

“I am calling for the HSE and the Minister to see the bigger picture and to take into account the plight of those who find themselves unemployed and in financial difficulty and to take immediate action to restore Community Welfare Services in Kinsale.”
