I am a Galwegian, I was born on the border of the new Galway City East Ward. I have worked at various jobs over the years. Since I returned to Galway 14 years ago I have worked in manufacturing, so I know the problems faced by people working on the factory floor. I worked as a handpainter and decorator in Royal Tara China and I now work for a medical device at Ballybrit which employs about 3,000 workers.
I joined the Labour Party in 2002 as I was very impressed by Michael D. Higgins stand on the Iraq war.
