Paddy Mac NamaraCllr Paddy Mac Namara

Paddy Mac Namara was first elected to Kildare County Council in 2004.
Cllr. Mac Namara is a hardworking and tenacious public representative, who keeps in touch with constituents on a regular basis. Aside from his newsletters and leaflets, Paddy is in contact all the time--not just at election time.
Paddy describes himself as “a value for money” councillor, since his expense claims are among the lowest filed by Kildare Co. Councillors. Nor does he seek or accept pointless “junkets.”
His priorities are proper planning and development, without fear or favour to vested interests.
Paddy likes to spend any spare time walking. He recently published a guide illustrating various walks along local canal banks.
He also has a strong interest in local history. Just ask him about Devoy Barracks, now the Home of Kildare County and Naas Town Councils. This used to be the garrison depot of the Royal Dublin Fusiliers, who served so bravely in the Great War.
Paddy works as a lecturer in Engineering at Bolton St. College.
