Cllr Ronan Sheehan
Thank you for visiting me webpage.
My name is Ronan Sheehan and I live in Mallow with my wife Elaine and our four children.
I am an active member of the GAA. I have played both hurling and football at all grades. I have worn the Cork jersey with pride and I have won a County Senior Championship with the Avondhu Hurlers.
I am a member of the TEEU and I have served as a shop steward.
I have seen at first hand the benefits of getting involved with something that you feel passionate about.
I believe I can channel the same passion and commitment into politics and improve the community at large. I am confident that I can be a strong voice in representing the people of North Cork at both Town and County level.
I will be concentrating on the bread and butter issues like improved youth facilities, better roads and positive planning for our towns and villages.
I will work hard to represent our community on both Mallow Town Council and Cork County Council.
THE BIG ISSUES
• The retention of acute services at Mallow General Hospital
• Revitalising streetscapes in our towns and villages and fighting against derelict buildings.
• The opening of a civic amenity site to service the North Cork area
• Positive planning development that will bring jobs to the region
• Improved public lighting; roads; footpaths
• Timely takeover of new estates by the Cork County Council
• Enhancing the tourism potential of our towns
• Maximising the potential of our people. We need to keep fighting for inward investment and Councils can pave the way for such investment by ensuring that planning and zoning is carried out with our long term economic future in mind. For too long we have been forgotten by the powers that be.
